Hello everyone! How’s it going? Hopefully everyone has been safe and doing well in general. I KNOW, I KNOW! I was supposed to post on Saturday but here I am posting on a Sunday. I do take full accountability for my irresponsibility. Today the title says it all, I’m gonna be expressing how much I love ten of these characters and why I love them so much!! Let’s get straight into it!
Number Five: Takemichi Hanagaki
Starting off is a liked and slightly disliked protagonist of a really great series. Takemichi is disliked mostly because some people may see him as a weak person and not worthy enough to be the main character in Tokyo Revengers. He always gets beaten up and some readers may even ask, “He has so much time on his hands! Why can’t he learn how to fight?” On the other hand, some people, including me like Takemichi because although he’s physically weak, he’s extremely mentally and emotionally strong. He’s strong enough to anger and weaken his enemies just by simply never giving up. I like Takemichi because he proves that you don’t have to be physically strong to be considered a great character or a great protagonist!
Number Four: Shigeo Kageyama
Better known as Mob, or White T Poison if you’re in a gang, Shigeo is such a relatable character. Now I may not have superpowers (Or maybe I do…) but I surely am very shy and kind. To me, Shigeo is relatable and likable because I’m pretty sure almost all middle schoolers had one crush and they always tried to impress them, they’ve tried to suppress their emotions in tons of situations or they just tried to discover themselves in this new chapter in their life. I like Shigeo because in each episode or chapter of Mob Psycho 100 you can see how he tries to improve himself and his life and you just feel so proud of him for it! He reminds me of the days when I too tried to do things so differently when I was in middle school.
Number Three: Maki Oze
Maki from Fire Force is such an icon to me! I remember when I was much younger I wanted to be physically stronger. Unfortunately due to the environment I was in at the time, I was afraid and believed that if I started to have muscles, I would look more masculine than the attractive feminine woman I was expected to look like. I became very self conscious about my body for a very long time and at such a young age. Thankfully some years later I mostly grew out of that due to social media proving to me that women with muscular, toned bodies can still be feminine! I was also very happy when I started watching Fire Force and came across the Witch Queen, Maki Oze! In my opinion, While Fire Force does have some problematic parts in the series, I still did like the story and I also really like this character. Maki is my favorite character because she’s confident and she knows what she wants to do in her life. Throughout the series she constantly shows that no matter who or what stands in her way, she will move right past it. She does her absolute best to solve each and every problem she faces and makes sure that all is well at the end of the day. She also proved to me that I indeed can be muscular and feminine. I also loved the parts whenever she played with Sputter and Flare because they were so cute!!
Number Two: Shoto Todoroki
This guy right here has truly been through a lot. We’ve watched, or read him growing up in an abusive environment and having a lot of pressure on him to not only surpass his father, but the number one hero All Might. You watch or read him try to be different than his father for good reasons and you see how he feels about his powers lots of times throughout the series. Todoroki is on this list because I like how he stated how he was going to be his own hero and own his own power. Over time begins to express that he won’t let the pressure of surpassing anyone nor the statement that he was only born and raised to achieve such a goal get to him and we even watch him open up to those he is close to. He is very strategic and has faith in his peers, even encouraging them at times. I really loved seeing Todoroki’s growth as a character and I really like his powers.
Number One: Rukia Kuchiki
Rukia!!! My number one favorite character!! I’ll be honest here, before Sailor Moon, Rukia was the only fictional character I looked up to a lot. She is strong, determined, funny at times and so intelligent. There is absolutely nothing to not like about Rukia in my opinion. She is one of the reasons why I stayed up so late trying to watch Bleach! Her reasonings for her goals or why she is the way she is makes you root for her a lot whenever she faces problems. I also believe that she proves that you shouldn’t judge a book by its cover. She may look small, but she can and will overpower you immediately. I also really like the look and powers of Rukia’s Zanpakto, Sode no Shirayuki.
And that’s that! I have tons of more favorite characters, but I wanted to share five that are really close and personal to me. I’m glad to be able to express my likes on here ^^ I truly hope you did enjoy my list! Please feel free to comment your favorite characters as well! This time, yes I will see you with a new post next Saturday. Stay safe, and… See you space reader~
